The recommended daily number of Brazil Nuts is 1 to 3. An adult should not exceed 4. We've seen some higher limit sources, but we say 3 nuts a day, about half an ounce per serving.

When sprouted, the living yet dormant raw nuts & seeds COME ALIVE. They are "activated". Just like planting a seed in the ground, once moisture is introduced, life is ignited with a surge of nutrients and living enzymes.
Even more importantly, all nuts & seeds contain Phytic Acid. It protects them during the dormant phase. Unfortunately it is an enzyme inhibitor known as an "anti-nutrient". When digested it binds to the nutrients and prevents them from being absorbed by our body. But once sprouted, poof, like magic, Phytic Acid all but disappears and the nutrients in the nuts & seeds become "bio-available". Isn't nature magnificent?
A note about light roasting. While fully roasting nuts & seeds will render them no longer raw and devoid of many health benefits, light roasting which does not permeate the entire nut or seed but only touches the surface will enhance taste and texture while preserving all the benefits. In fact, whereas sprouting eliminates the vast majority of Phytic-Acid, light roasting actually completes the process. The best of both worlds.
