The precious drink was officially introduced to France at the occasion of the marriage of Anne of Austria, daughter of King Philip III of Spain and King of France Louis XIII in Bayonne in 1615.

H2 A special royal court 'Etiquette' under the reign of Louis XIV emerged around dark chocolate, which was consumed as a hot drink.
